Originally from Metro Detroit, Michigan, Cook’s career began at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he received a Master’s of Architecture degree.
Born into a family of craftsmen and builders, Adam has a unique ability as an Architect to bridge the gap between construction and design. He moved to the Roaring Fork Valley after being drawn to the West during a family ski trip to Jackson, Wyoming. After several years of project management in the Roaring Fork Valley, he decided to pursue his own work. Cook has worked on residential and commercial projects across the valley from Aspen to Rifle and Marble. Cook is also passionate about supporting the community while raising money for a local non-profit, creating new jobs, and partnering with other local businesses. In addition to Colorado, Cook has projects in California, Michigan, and South Carolina.
Cook aims to create exceptional designs with positive social impact. These designs are mirrored in his approach of creating contextual experiences that reflect the environment and people who use them.
Cook desires to merge ecological systems science and modern design principles. This is why he and his Partner started a research lab within the architecture studio Flora Materials. Flora is developing new building materials and testing them on West 40 projects.
