West 40 Studio Partnership with Flora Materials

West 40 Studio is taking sustainability to a whole new level. 


The Partnership with Flora Materials connects the designers at W40 with material scientists and mechanical engineers, all with the same goal of redefining sustainability.


The team is currently funded by the Department of Defense SBIR Phase I funding to develop sustainable building materials. 


Working alongside West 40 Studio, Flora plans to create new materials that push the industry towards climate neutrality and a net zero future.

Flora Materials is a biomaterials research company working to redefine sustainability in architecture and construction by replacing petroleum-based plastic materials with our algae-based bioplastic.
